Profoto Lighting Workshop Coming in 9 April 2022 – Who’s In?

One of my most commonly asked questions is always about lighting – “How do I use lights to shoot street style fashion?”

Well, I’ve got great news.

In partnership with Borge’s Imaging, we are excited to present a hands-on Profoto lighting workshop at Photography Studies College.

In this workshop, you will experience a behind the scenes demonstration of my street fashion style and utilising the Profoto B10X and A10 lighting gear with a professional model.

This workshop aims to highlight my professional photography skill and experience in controlling lighting while showing off the versatility, simplicity and power of the Profoto lighting system.

This will take place at Photography Studies College in South Melbourne and pending the Melbourne weather move outdoors to some of the nearby alleyways for a live shoot.

Take the Nikon Z6 II to the Fashion Runway

My fashion photography career began in 2014 when my good friend, Jess Dempsey encouraged me to shoot street style because I loved fashion, style and people. So off I went and travelled around the world, attending Fashion Weeks to photograph everyday fashionistas. I would patiently wait, scout and capture outstanding outfits, combined with good light and the right moment. This has taught me resilience and how to build a rapport, understand style and take a good photo in 5 mins. Since then I’ve been incredibly fortunate to work for WGSN (global trend forecasting agency) and contribute to online publications like Vogue Australia as a Fashion Film maker. It’s a real pinch-me moment to look back at the years as an ‘outsider’ to now sitting front row at Melbourne Fashion Festival with the latest Nikon Z6II camera.

So here’s a stop motion video to showcase how insanely fast and accurate the face + eye tracking feature, and the 14FPS hyper continuous shooting mode is on the Nikon Z6 II camera. I highly recommend this camera if you want to capture your favourite looks without missing the beat!

Getting personal at Christian Dior’s ABCDior pop-up store at Chadstone Fashion

This season’s trend is about getting your things name embroidered, and Dior has finally brought this offering to Chadstone Fashion. Personalisation normally takes about 2-3 months and is sent to Paris, but lucky for us it now takes 2-3 days until 1 March 2020.

I was invited to an exclusive look at Christian Dior’s ABCDior pop-store and I was like a girl crushing on all the candy that was on display. There were a beautiful array of their best selling oblique Dior totes, saddle bags, airpod case, sneakers, jewellery and their newest addition – the oblique travel range. Everything you could wish for in the one place. But be quick because the obliques pieces are selling out fast. I was told that Australia were the first to receive 30 silver-grey totes before it launches world-wide in June, so if I was you, get to it!
