Sephora Street Style at Melbourne Central

The wait is over! The iconic beauty giant Sephora has officially landed in Melbourne.

The launch of Sephora at Melbourne Central was EPIC. I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen so many beauty enthusiasts lining up for hair and make up cosmetics! The lines were pouring out on the streets on Latrobe street, waiting patiently for the doors to open at 12pm. “Beauty Cadets” were handing out balloons, show bag filled with bottled water and snacks, and music entertainment.

I had a quick tour around the the 500sqm space (designed by Lisa Zhang @DeviousStudios) and as you can imagine, there were aisles of more than 30 exclusive beauty brands such as Marc Jacobs Beauty, Tarte, Kat Von D, IT Cosmetics, Cover FX, NUDESTIX, Beauty Blender, Ole Henriksen, Formula X and its own private label SEPHORA cosmetics.

Believe it or not, I love makeup for someone who barely puts on makeup. I have a thing for pretty make up packaging. I have a drawer full of Sephora products such as hair clips, egg-shaped foundation blender, makeup brushes and my fave, contouring trio pack but honestly I’m quite a simple person who loves a good skincare regime. It’s takes me 5 minutes to put on my makeup but preventing it from smudging against my camera is another story. Note to self – wear eye primer!

As part of the Sephora launch, Melbourne Central invited me back to spot 12 of my favourite street looks from the excited lines of adoring Sephora fans.

So here are my top 12 street style picks of the day. Thanks for the snaps everyone x

Kendall + Kylie X Forever New collection launch preview

This was Forever New‘s first ever collaboration with any designer or celebrity, and to collaborate with one of the most influential Celebrities on the planet such as Kendall + Kylie, it’s a huge deal. You can either diss them or love the Jenner sisters, but you have to admit they are both incredibly successful business women, and I have massive respect for that.

Today, I had the privilege of being one of the few along with the other well known Melbourne bloggers to see and touch the limited edition, 19 piece capsule collection at Melbourne Central Forever New store. Raquel Ryan, a well known Melbourne Stylist talked us through the collection and I was pretty surprised by the quality, design and cut of the fabrication. Price ranges from $79.99 and up to $249.99 and the collection is limited to selected stores in Melbourne such as Melbourne Central, Highpoint, Westfield Doncaster and Chadstone Shopping Centre.

To be honest, I haven’t walked into a Forever New store in years because I am not into the whole floral and girly thing, but now I have to say, I’m converted. Every piece is wearable and layerable and that’s what I love about styling and dressing up for the day. I ended up purchasing a black body suit from the Kendall + Kylie collection and a pair of stripe navy culottes. See my instagram post here on how I styled it.

Anyway here are some of the highlight from today’s launch.

Huge thank you to Bastion Collective and Melbourne Central for inviting me to the exclusive preview of the collection.

Derby Day Highlights for Lexus and Lavazza 2015

Can you believe it is the 1st of November today, and I already have a cray cray super organised friend who has already put up her Christmas Tree!? Let’s just park Christmas aside for moment, because the most anticipated Melbourne event of the year has kick started – it’s Derby Day at the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival.

Driving into Flemmington Racecourse was quite horrendous with the downpour of rain, but thankfully the weather held up and all the fashionistas turned up in their stylish monochromatic outfits for a fabulous time at the Lexus and Lavazza Marquee.

My favourite outfits of the day (in no particular order) were Jess Dempsey in Dolce & Gabana lace ensemble as dressed by the Outnet.com and headpiece by Danika; Jacqui Felgate in Nicholas the label and Milinery Jill big bow head piece; Helen (Designer for Thurley) in her own custom designed Thurley dress ; Kate Waterhouse in white Stella McCartney top and wide legged pants and Nerida Winter hat; Margaret Zhang in Dion Lee and Sarina Suriano Jewel headpiece; Jessica Gomes in Ellery’s trademark bell sleeved dress; and the beautiful ladies in Louis Vuitton.

Anyway, I’ll let you decide … enjoy the snaps! For more images, please visit What Would Karl Do.

Special love and appreciation to S.Wallis for dressing me this year to keep me comfortable and stylish xxx

Alice McCall opens at Chadstone Fashion Capital

Today was the official launch of Alice McCall’s second store in Melbourne. So this morning I made my way to the Chadstone Shopping Centre to check out the new Alice McCall store and I was impressed. I knew I stepped into dangerous territory because I am in love with their latest collection, in particular their long red croquet dress with this amazing backless detail; the cute little playsuits in black, white, patterned and in different fabrication, and of-course their striking red and white jumpsuit that can’t be missed. Only the bold and daring would wear it and I can see it on the streets of Paris or New York during Fashion Week.

If you were to ask what’s my favourite out of the day, it would have to be the black and white croquet playsuit – an absolute winner for Derby Day coming up in 2 days!

Thank you Ali, and Electric Collective PR for having me xxx

MRP Store Launch Party at Melbourne Central 2015

Fashion is for everyone!

MRP is an South African, mega fashion store to hit the shores of Australia which offers “I need it now” and “outstanding crazy value” women, mens, children, baby, accessories and sleepwear!

When I first received MRP’s launch party invitation card in the mail (ie, a mini fashion film starts playing as soon as you open the invite), I knew I was headed for an epic time.

And boy was I right. The crowd and vibe was insane, and thank God I brought my plus one guest, Nami with me (@nami_man) for the added fun!

With my fresh look (yes! I have dusty pink hair with a darker purple shadow roots going on), I was instantly entertained by Social Playground’s clever little photobooth setup where you can move around their graphic designed blocks around and pose for an instant photo. As I entered into the venue, there was a “spin-the-wheel” setup, then tables filled with mini burgers, tacos, cocktails and beer; an DIY Ice Cream booth; and even a custom cap design booth. A celebration isn’t a celebration if there wasn’t any shopping too! Each guest were given a $30 voucher to spend and I ended up getting a beautiful stripey long shirt to layer over my high waisted jeans. After thralling through the racks of very well priced garments, I ended up at the back of the store for some live fashion illustration!

All in all, we felt like little kids again – lost in the wonder of entertainment and FASHUN.

Last and not the least, special thanks to Hot House Media for having me at MRP amazing celebration parteeeee xxx
