Melbourne Fashion Week : Who runs the Emporium streetstyle runway?

Just when I thought I’d done it all, street style, backstage, and the media pit, I never dreamt I’d actually be running on the runway until now!

At the Melbourne Fashion Week Emporium Street Style Runway, I wasn’t just behind the camera, I was in the show. Running alongside models, weaving through the catwalk, camera in hand, and shooting in real time with my Nikon Z6 III, talk about a photographer’s workout!

It was such an unforgettable moment, part photographer, part runway act, giving my 100% Woo energy and rubbing shoulders with the legendary crew, including Suleiman. By the end, I was definitely puffed from all the running, but every second was pure joy.

A massive thank you to Karinda, Josh, Lizzie and Amelia from Moth Designs for this incredible experience.

We did it!!! 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼

Hope you enjoyed the show. Until next time, stay cool! 😎

Melbourne Fashion Week 2021: Day 2 Street Style Day

Day 2 on the streets and here are my Melbourne Fashion Week streetstyle highlights captured outside Federation Square.

From observation, it looks like sequinned dresses, cut outs and neon coloured suits are trending in Melbourne right now!

Enjoy! x

Spring into H&M

I love the smell of Spring.

This year I spent time in my garden planting climbing roses, david austen roses, hydrangea and peonies. It is utterly satisfying and therapeutic to work the soil, plant and watch them bloom.

To celebrate spring, here’s a cute fringe cream dress to dance around in the sun from H&M’s latest spring summer collection.

Take the Nikon Z6 II to the Fashion Runway

My fashion photography career began in 2014 when my good friend, Jess Dempsey encouraged me to shoot street style because I loved fashion, style and people. So off I went and travelled around the world, attending Fashion Weeks to photograph everyday fashionistas. I would patiently wait, scout and capture outstanding outfits, combined with good light and the right moment. This has taught me resilience and how to build a rapport, understand style and take a good photo in 5 mins. Since then I’ve been incredibly fortunate to work for WGSN (global trend forecasting agency) and contribute to online publications like Vogue Australia as a Fashion Film maker. It’s a real pinch-me moment to look back at the years as an ‘outsider’ to now sitting front row at Melbourne Fashion Festival with the latest Nikon Z6II camera.

So here’s a stop motion video to showcase how insanely fast and accurate the face + eye tracking feature, and the 14FPS hyper continuous shooting mode is on the Nikon Z6 II camera. I highly recommend this camera if you want to capture your favourite looks without missing the beat!
