VAMFF opening night has finally arrived with David Jones to kick off the affair. As the models, media and backstage staff prepare for the show, the street style photographers were outside, waiting eagerly to snap the next best dressed to arrive. Nadia Fairfax, Vydia Rishie, Jess Dempsey, Tiffany Newman, Alexia Petsinis, Bianca O’Neill and Jared Acquaro to name a few were amongst my favourite looks of the night.
Enjoy the highlights x

I started out my day at the Target Australia Head Quarters for #petitesposse model casting for the Target Runway show. Uh huh, you heard me right. M.O.D.E.L C.A.S.T.I.N.G. I was one of the lucky 15 Australian Finalists to be chosen by Target Australia in search for the face of #petitesposse at VAMFF, and walk the Target Runway. I know, totally obscure and something I never imagined myself ever doing except for being behind the lens. Having said that, I’m very grateful for every surprise and opportunity thrown at me. I actually enjoyed the entire experience because I got to meet the other beautiful models, and of-course meeting the gorgeous and super woman Dannii Minogue (true story: the first time I met her was when I served her at the Naturopathy counter back in my Pharmacy Assisting days 10 years ago ….) which was a dream come true.
Sadly…
I didn’t make the cut (must be my awkward catwalking skills) and I headed straight to VAMFF to capture the street style action along with my beautiful side kick, Nicola Tauros.
My entire look is by S.Wallis’s latest AW15 collection. I’m obsessing over this tweed vest right now.
Estelle Michaelides is the genius behind the Micky in a Van fashion design label; and she is one a of a kind – the sweetest and generous kind. We actually met over an Instagram post – “um and ah-ring about whether to go to New York Fashion Week or Paris Fashion Week”, and fortunately we both did (I went to NYFW and she followed her heart to PFW).
What I love about Estelle is that she’s confident and not afraid to stand out. Estelle creates art that is wearable and inspired by her surroundings and emotions. She doesn’t like to follow seasonal trends and colours or what the latest Designer is doing.
After returning from our awe-inspiring Fashion Week trips; we got together for a fashion editorial shoot to explore what we both learnt and experienced during Fashion Week. If you are wondering what that is, it is simply “Fashion on Steroids”.
Since there are only 2 more days till VAMFF, I am proud to present to you our first street style look (The “perfect denim jumpsuit”, as styled and modeled by Estelle). We really hope this inspires you to experiment with fashion and not be afraid to stand out, because this is what gets you snapped up during Fashion Week.
Good luck xo

I’m one for investing into timeless, comfortable and functional pieces, and Scanlan & Theodore has been one of my favourite go to Aussie Designer places for years. As much as I love vibrant colours and quirky street wear, I’m very much in love with the whole minimalist and all black aesthetic.
I’m a size 4-6, but believe it or not the silk blouse I’m wearing is a size 12 in the following images. I’m really liking the slight over-sized and slouchy look because it gives me versatility in the way I style it. I have styled the blouse in 2 ways by tucking it differently.
Here I have taken the front and twisted it and tucked it in my silk slouchy pants.
Here I have loosely tucked the front of the blouse into my pants, and pulled up the pants a little to give it a slouchy look. You have no idea how long I have been hunting for the pair a slouchy pants that looks good on petite women like me!!!! Finally I found my dream pair from Scanlan Theodore that actually drops well, and once again it’s so versatile.
