There isn’t really any right or wrong answer on how to dress for street style, just as long as you are feeling it, then you know you have a winner. It’s always about putting pieces together and seeing what works and what doesn’t, making minor tweaks, and trust me your room will be a complete mess by the end of it.
The reason I enjoy capturing street style photography is because I love getting style inspiration from the streets. I get excited when I see someone interpreting a trend their own creative way, and that’s what makes fashion so much more interesting. Before I forget can I please emphasise or even apologise that if you see me on the street and I don’t stop you to take your snap, it doesn’t mean that I don’t dig your outfit it’s because:
- I may be looking for something specific for my client (ie, WSGN)
- I’ve taken a whole heap of street looks that has started to look the same same earlier in the day so I’m looking for that look with that extra edge
- I may have already taken your picture and you didn’t see (but this only happens during fashion week. I will only snap if you give me your consent!)
- I completely missed you 🙁
All in all, be happy and stay true to your style. Style is the outer, it’s what inside really counts. Don’t dress to be snapped but because it’s gives us confidence – it really shows!
