Paris Fashion Week 2018 Loewe Street Style with the mirrorless Nikon Z7

Looking back, capturing street style outside Loewe was my personal favourite of the entire Paris Fashion Week schedule. It all came down to the interesting clothes, accessories and shoes, the detailed patterns, textures, patch work, pleats and the peplum corset belt was to die for! I was so close to purchasing one but I ended up finding a beautiful vintage Chanel corset belt in Marais for 250 euros. If you are wondering what is one of the “must-have accessories” to come off fashion week, I’ll definitely say “the corset belt”. It’s one versatile piece that would elevate your shirt dress or high waisted pants from boring to elegance!

I would normally stop and ask the model if I can direct and shoot them but this time to my surprise, I met this mega babe London Myers from New York who asked if I could take a photo with me! She has recently walked for Louis Vuitton, Balmain and even shot in Dior’s AW18 lookbook. Of-course I said yes, and then in return I asked if she could do a little short fashion film with me using the mirrorless Nikon Z7. Each individual clips were wifi onto the IPhone XS,  edited in INSHOT application and then uploaded here. Which means, there may be a slight loss of quality. Best way is to edit the film clips directly in Premier, but I wanted to test the wifi functionality which was lightening fast.

Thank God my Nikon super zoom lens and the strong gusty winds, it blew up the curtain and we all caught a glimpse of Thom Browne’s magical show from the sidelines! I love how the shoes were mismatched, and who would have thought to wear one boot and heel?

Shooting street style at Balenciaga was probably one of the most difficult shows I’ve experienced. The security, dressed in Balenciaga raincoats were exceedingly strict and managed to keep us at bay and we weren’t even allowed to enter into the compound to take any images . Luckily I stayed back for an extra 30 mins and shot a few off-duty models.
