MBFWA 2017 Backstage at Active Collective runway, HUNTRLND

If you take away the superficiality of fashion, and make the effort to know the heart of every fashion soul, you never know who you end up being good friends with. Well Emily Highfield is definitely one of those people. I met Emily Highfield (well properly) at last year’s VAMFF when I stopped her for a street style snap, however I had no idea she was a seasoned Fashion Designer. I’ve always thought she was just a Fashionista and popular Digital Influencer, but how wrong was I. As our friendship grew, her passion for designing luxe activewear also grew, and I’m super proud to a part of her journey; and I even got to shoot her second activewear collection lookbook and go behind the scenes (and FROW) to her first ever, MBFWA 2017 Active Collective runway.

Em, huge congrats! WOOOO HOOOOO You did it (and does the running-man celebration dance) XXX

MBFWA 2017 Opening Night Street Style Highlights

I’m so thrilled to be here in Sydney for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. Dion Lee opened the schedule tonight in front of the sails of the Opera House, out in the open air where everyone was praying hard for the rain to stay away. Thankfully it did! Lee’s Resort SS18 collection had a mix of cobalt, red and white coloured pieces; and I am obsessed with his menswear range – silk sailor pants, oversized vinyl coats, blazers and long sleeved shirts.

Shooting street style in front of the epic venue was the highlight of the night. My absolute favourite street style looks were: Beth Levi wore fuchsia Balenciaga over the knee boots and Dion Lee velvet dress; Sarah Ellen wore Louis Vuitton and Tiffany & Co jewelry, and Lisa Aiken’s wore flared pants, silk long sleeved shirt and blazer worn as a cape.

Ok, enjoy my favourite looks of the evening xx

MBFWA 2016 P.E.Nation Presentation

Australian fashion icon and General Pants Design Director, Pip Edwards and business partner, designer Claire Tregoning introduces us to P.E Nation at MBFWA.

After 15 years of attending MBFWA shows, 2016 was the year both ladies presented their own label for the first time in a presentation style. Since they live and breathe in comfortable clothes, it wasn’t rocket science for them to design a collection of modern activewear for women.

Every look they meticulously put together at the presentation had an identifiable trend – the baggy pants, over-sized bomber jacket, overalls; clutches with quirky quotes like “game on” and “ace” by Poppy Lissiman; Beats headphones and pulled up socks in Reebok sneakers.

Well game on, and congratulations to Pip and Claire for combining luxe and trendiness to sportswear.
