Hoodie or Jeans.

Your prized procession is:
My super collectable barbie dolls featuring Audrey Hepburn in her various acting roles and Scarlet O’Hara  from Gone in the Wind and Grace Kelly in her wedding dress

What are your hobbies when you aren’t modelling?
My hobbies outside of modelling are baking, frequent movie goer/watcher, travel nut, pole dancing, singing and dancing.

What is the last item of clothing you bought:
A black knit from Zara.

Solids or patterns:
Mostly solids, sometimes pattern.

Who is your style icon?
My mum and Audrey Hepburn.

Your favourite place in the whole wide world.
Lyon – France

One of the rules about how a girl should dress is:
Always dress appropriately especially for the weather. I love seeing a girl dress to her style and accommodating to the weather.

TRIUMPH Lingerie Fashion Editorial & Photography Tips

You would think by now that both Jess and I would be so comfortable with each other, and no challenge would ever deter us. Well, lingerie was definitely one of our most recent, challenging and new experience for the both of us. It was Jess’s first time getting in front of the camera in lacey bra and knickers (wait, wasn’t she one of BONDs Boobicon Ambassador?); and my first time directing her body in a way that her curves were accentuated in all the right places for the entire 3 hours. We had 5 different looks to nail, and by the end we were pretty chuffed by our efforts. Hard work, but was all worth it.

Even though this shoot was no different to any of our usual fashion editorials, but I thought I’ll share a few handy tips to take away when preparing for a blog or editorial shoot, especially if it is your first time as a fashion blogger working with the photographer, other team members or client.

  1. Know exactly what you want to achieve, ie, colour and theme
  2. Pull together your favourite reference images whether it is the poses, expression, locations, hair, makeup and wardrobe styling. It will give your team a sense of your direction. We called this the “mood board”
  3. Prepare your outfits/looks well in advance. It’s useful if you could show them to your photographer so he or she can finalise the location of choice
  4. Brief your team so everyone in on the same wave length, and an opportunity for every to collaborate and suggest ideas
  5. Have your brief signed off by your client before you start shooting. This will avoid later disappointment or any misunderstandings
  6. On the day, bring all your outfits (steamed and pressed), any props, food and great energy
  7. Anything can happen on the day of the shoot, so be prepared to be flexible and try different things. It’s all about having the collaborative spirit!
  8. What normally helps is to go through a few images on the back of the camera (or better, tether the images to the computer screen) together so you have the opportunity to adjust any clothing, props, expressions before fire gunning another set of useless images.

What Photographers should do:

  1. Photographers should always be a part of the creative process, so make sure you are given updates and provide feedback where neccessary
  2. Scout and choose locations in advance that would match the theme and outfit styling
  3. Don’t be trigger happy on set. Compose the shot in camera, and wait for the moment before snapping
  4. Make sure all the settings (ie, exposure, lighting) is correct before shooting
  5. Give verbal direction, even if it means using your hand to guide them. If you want to move their body, always ask for permission before making contact.
  6. Make your client happy and comfortable in front of the camera, including your team members. Never demand but have an energetic and collaborative spirit
  7. Never over edit your images ie, skin smoothing to the point where the it starts to look like a plastic doll
  8. Always go through your images, cull and select only your top favourite images for presentation. Trust me, your client won’t have time to go through 1000s and 1000s of images
  9. Choose filters wisely if you intend on using them. If your client wants to keep the images clean and have clarity, then don’t use filters with lots of fade that will wash out the detail of the clothing.

Lastly, have fun on set even if it means braving the cold and stormy weather.

CHARLES & KEITH SUMMER STREET STYLE CAMPAIGN 2016

CHARLES & KEITH SUMMER 2016 draws on a tale of one’s journey to self discovery, a delivery of self expressionism. Pushing forth the idea of self identity, a series of visual narratives portraying the dialogues of one’s inner thoughts.

Supporting their official Summer campaign, I was really humbled when CHARLES & KEITH, an international brand approached me to create a street style campaign which depicts the story of a city slick girl living a carefree life accessorised in CHARLES & KEITH.

I must admit, it was mammoth task shooting 11 different looks in one day, running around like a wild cat in an orange vest (safety comes first ok!), jumping up on bins to take a bird’s eye view whilst making sure every little detail of the product was in clear view and the shot list nailed. However, I had the best time of my life, and I couldn’t have done it without the patience, professionalism and commitment of my dream team.

Ok so here it is! Hope you enjoy the street style campaign now debuting digitally and in store across Asia – Singapore, Korea, Japan, China and Thailand.

Through the Lens with SōLEURS

I don’t know about you, but finding the right pair of sunglasses to suit my round face shape is a laborious exercise. Cat eyes, round shape and wide frames are big no no’s for me. As much as I’m convinced that the next trending Prada or Dior sunnies would suit my face to a tee, I’m mostly left feeling disappointed.

All this changed when I tried on my first pair of SōLEURS sunglasses. I was sincerely taken back by how sharp and clear everything appeared through the lens. Not only did the style looked good, I noticed how much exposure and glare were greatly reduced; so much that you can’t even look at a computer screen or an iPhone with them on!

Ladies, do you even know what that means for you? Less wrinkles and crow’s feet around the eyes. I think your Beauty Therapist would be pleased to see that.

After this experience, it really made sense for me to see how I can creatively capture a set of images that portrays the brand story of SōLEURS. Especially how life and style can be seen through the eyes of two real people, two greats friends. VAMFF2016 Day 7 Street Style

What a brilliant finale to VAMFF, and I couldn’t have done it without YOU.

Thank you so much for letting me stop you on the streets for a snap, and the many great conversations we have had. Thanks for all the Insta comments, the hugs and kisses on the streets, the shout outs and most of all, my WOO fam for putting up with my late night editing.

I am a little sad that VAMFF is now over, but I’m super pumped for Sydney Fashion Week. The excitement even spurred me to secure my flights to NYC, so I’ll be heading to New York Fashion Week in September as well. Woooootttt!
