Getting personal at Christian Dior’s ABCDior pop-up store at Chadstone Fashion

This season’s trend is about getting your things name embroidered, and Dior has finally brought this offering to Chadstone Fashion. Personalisation normally takes about 2-3 months and is sent to Paris, but lucky for us it now takes 2-3 days until 1 March 2020.

I was invited to an exclusive look at Christian Dior’s ABCDior pop-store and I was like a girl crushing on all the candy that was on display. There were a beautiful array of their best selling oblique Dior totes, saddle bags, airpod case, sneakers, jewellery and their newest addition – the oblique travel range. Everything you could wish for in the one place. But be quick because the obliques pieces are selling out fast. I was told that Australia were the first to receive 30 silver-grey totes before it launches world-wide in June, so if I was you, get to it!

Paris Fashion Week DIOR Street Style 2018 with the NIKON Mirrorless Z7 camera

BONJOUR PARIS!

I can’t believe I’m finally here in Paris. It has been 5 year long dream of mine since I’ve started street style, and 2018 was the year I must go experience what everyone has been telling me about: the fashion, the chaos and how chic the French people truly are. The French did not disappoint, and they have been nothing but patient, kind and courteous. Today was my first day on the field and boy it was messy, super tight and you have to be lighting fast to get a good shot outside the shows.

Thanks to NIKON Australia, I have the new NIKON Mirrorless Z7 to play with and I tell you, putting the camera on “Auto” mode has been the biggest life saver. I’m a strong manual shooter but in harsh and inconsistent lighting conditions and spontaneous moments it is simply better to remove my pride for sharp, accurate and winning shots. This means, less time required for adjusting colours in post.

Here are my favourite highlights taken from the NIKON Mirrorless Z7 camera using the NIKKOR 58mm lens, edited in Lightroom. Enjoy x

Crazy Rich Asian

It took me many years to embrace my Chinese heritage because it was that association: “Crazy Rich Asians” I stood against so much. I knew I could have anything growing up but my parents have firmly taught me, “don’t expect me to give you anything on a silver platter, you must work hard to earn it”. These wise words have played a huge relevance in my life to get to where I am today. I still got a lot to learn and do but today, I’m proud to be an Australian Born Chinese and I thank Maria Grazia Chiuri, the Creative Director of DIOR for celebrating and creating a voice for women like me to embrace my heritage and culture.

I wear DIOR from the AW18 Youthquake collection.

A Night To Remember with Sofitel in partnership with DIOR, NGV and Mercedes Benz Australia

It still hasn’t sunk in that I have just accomplished one of my all time favourite, fashion editorial work with four high end, luxury brands. A Night to Remember is a DIOR-inspired fashion editorial which celebrates the story of friendship between four girl friends through a series of themes: from getting fashionably ready; drinking cocktails by the Sofitel’s Atrium bar; to arriving in the new Mercedes Benz E250d coupe at the NGV.

This special edition was created for Sofitel Melbourne on Collins in partnership with Dior, NGV and Mercedes Benz Australia, and I cannot begin to fathom what an enormous, yet beautiful process it has been for me both personally and professionally. My mind was completely blown away to the 2% glimpse of what it felt like to work with, and to have my work put in front DIOR Paris, is beyond my wildest dreams. If you have seen DIOR & I, you will know what I mean. The angst, control and the tremendous value they place on their brand and product is formidable.

As excited as I am to attend the Dior GALA and exhibition, I am truly grateful for the opportunity to work with Sofitel, and to my incredible team of talents to produce the following series of images. I hope my story will inspire you to believe in yourself and keep creating. Love to you all xxx
